Vacations come to an end and with September new seasons begin–school, fall festivals, art galleries, the theatre, the opera–new seasons open!

Fairy-tales and Hero Stories

To end your day with “once upon a time”.   Doesn’t it make you sit up and listen, when the point of being read to at night is to lay down and sleep?

Today I’m working on a fairy-tale–a magical place in my mind.

There are no fairy-tales in our book “Make No Assumptions”  but you’ll find its close relative:  hero stories.   In my (Glenda’s) story,  “About Jack” unlike Jack from the beanstalk,   my Jack has a friend in the wilderness in which he finds himself–an usual sort of companion,  Great Bear.

In Janie’s “Alberto” hero story,  a young man grows up in a foreign land and but for the help of a solitary friend would disappear in the city jungle madness.

I found several reasons:

1. You’re bound to finish it.   It’s a short story for crying out loud.

3. A good way to try reading different authors.

Celebrate

Of course we need to celebrate!   It took at least two years to develop Make No Assumptions,  maybe more.   When Janie pressed the “publish it” button, we couldn’t believe it.  The final step was over.   There wasn’t another form to fill out or more data to gather–it was done.   We couldn’t believe how easy it was, that last “submit”.

So we are planning to celebrate.  For starters–a book signing party.   If you would like an invitation–let us know.  Plans are underway!
